Part of this week the children enjoyed engaging in Easter activities, the favorite was dying the eggs although taking home an Easter treat bag was also a favorite!

In the Pine Room this week we continued our unit study on Australia as well as continuing our discussion on the earth and recycling. We also continued our discussion about community helpers, who they are and what they do. The children worked on several Easter projects which included egg coloring, making baskets and cards for parents. We read, “Strictly No Elephants” and listened to audio books of “Peter Rabbit” and ” I Love You Grumpy Bunny”. The children continue to progress in multiplication and division. We would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter, and remember that we are closed Good Friday. The Pine Room Staff.
In the Toddler Classroom the theme was Easter. The children enjoyed the books “Easter Bunny” and “Over in the Ocean”. The children enjoyed the experience of whisking-this activity is essential in practicing the muscles in the hands and arms and muscles for developing motor skills as well. The children continue to work on the rainbow arch activity. They love to use their imaginations as they construct buildings, tunnels, boats and create mazes. The children made a rabbit headband and colored eggs. The children enjoyed the process of dying the eggs, they were able to explore colors and mixing, texture (the egg) and cause and effect as the egg changes colors.
In the Maple Room this week the children enjoyed listening about Ms. Linda’s trip to Australia and New Zealand. She shared interesting facts about that continent. The topic discussed this week was Easter, the meaning behind Easter and Good Friday. The children dyed eggs, made a bunny mask and cut and pasted an Easter basket. The children continue with their regular work and are gaining confidence in the level that they are on.
In the Cedar Room the discussion on Australia continued. The children enjoyed watching a video on Australia. The week was also spend discussing Easter. The children dyed eggs, made Easter bags and also practiced for the spring concert.
