The students are getting back into the swing of things from vacation and we are excited with the new material that is being introduced the second half of the school year. Read below on what’s been happening over the past month…
Practical Life

In January practical life introduced new food prep to all of the classes. We worked on bread crumbs, new scrubbing material and polishing. The students had an awesome time with learning about how to take care of our plants, and arranging flowers.

Sensorial
In sensorial we have started working on extensions of the knobless cylinders. Students are able to add additional material together to elaborate the use of sensorial material. Check out this video here
Language

This month in Language we talked about Antarctica and the Arctic. The children were introduced to more ocean animals. Our students also learned about rhyming.
Geography
Students learned about snow and discussed more about the seasons. Our discussion about the Arctic brought up the Arctic Circle and where it is located. Our students also learned about different land forms and where some are found right in Michigan.

Cultural Studies
Students read books about Dr. Martin Luther King. We also learned about the peace tree and had a wonderful peace ceremony.
