Pine Room News

Theme of the Month:  North America

Science:  This week we continued our study on frogs, as well as discussed birds and the different types / parts of the bird.  We also painted birds in art!
Geography:  We presented the USA map, learning the names of the states, and we also learned about the USA flag. We had the flag in our art center for coloring.

We are also studying the continent of North America.

Teachers introduced land forms.  Ask your child about a strait, isthmus (opposite of a strait), lake and island (opposite of a lake). Students worked with colored water to form different land forms.
Math: All children in math are working at their own pace, however, the older children are working on dynamic addition (which is a step up from static or basic addition)

Language: All children in language are working at their own pace, however, younger students are continuing working on beginning sounds, which is a major building block to reading!
Parents of the 4 1/2 year olds and up please let us know if they will be participating in our science fair April 17th. If you have any questions please feel free to ask one of the teachers.
