Practical Life is the founation of the Montessori classroom. Students learn to take care of their environment by sweeping, washing, pouring and preparing food. Regularly participating in these activities helps to build fine motor muscles for pencil grip. They also help students understand the order of activities which will help them later on in the classroom.
The Sensorial area of the classroom explores all 5 senses. Students work with geometric shapes, most of which have a basis for complex math concepts such as base ten and binomial patterns which is very useful for algebra later on.
Montessori Math is amazing! It allows students to learn in a concrete way which will help them later with abstract math. These concepts will stick with them for life!
The sky is the limit with Montessori Language. From tracing the sandpaper letters, to writing poetry, no child will be stifled from their potential!
